View Full Version : Vang convicted
I just saw that the Hmong man that killed 6 Wisconson deer hunters last year was convicted of 6 counts of first degree murders. They have no death penalty. :cursing:

Convicted and they still dont know who fired first.
I think there will a be a retrial.
The jury didnt sport any minorities and since this entire case seems to be racially motivated I think someone messed up.
According to the article-5 of the 6 were unarmed and 4 of the 6 were shot in the back. How would a minority see it any different?

I feel the same way. First of all, he wasn't shot. Im sure it could have been handled in a civil way. But to kill 6 hunters, shooting them while they were either not looking or running away, thats cowardice, and he needs to fry no matter what his race is. You cant just go around killing people and play the race card and get away with it.

Living in MN and only a few hundred miles from where it happened, they've had lots on this trial in the newspaper and tv. Vang WAS shot at, and the man was throwing the F bomb at him constantly...
His reaction was completely wrong, and he had a guilty verdict coming. To kill unarmed men and shoot them in the back is cowardish to say the least and to play the race card only made things worse. Hopefully all people will learn from this whole situation. Maybe a little more respect and kindness from all parties involved may have produced a different outcome without the needless loss of life.

My bad, i didn't think he was shot at. Outcome should still be the same though. Its one thing to kill a man who is shooting at you. Thats self defense. The others slayings aren't. And another thing that puzzled me, how many shots did they say were fired? It was at least 6 obviously. I find that odd, because i never go into the woods with more than 3 shells, and have never had to use more than 1.

I think at least 6 were fired, Being they were deer hunters, if they really wanted to shoot Vang, they very well could of. In Vangs defense, I'd be scared if shot at first, but to pull the trigger on everyone else that came to the scene is obscenely wrong. It's too bad the death penalty is not allowed in that state. In prision he will probably lead as good of a life as the rest of us...sad but true. Have already heard of an appeal being brought up. IMO Another waste of our taxpaying dollars!! :cursing:

Mark, you could very well be right on that one. They did an interesting thing during jury selection, they sent out questionaires to all potential jurors beforehand, when jury selection took place, it only took about 25 minutes

Uhh-The article said 4 of them were shot in the BACK

A jury picked in 25 minutes on a high profile multiple murder trial?
Yea, there will be a retrial, but I doubt he walks.
A jury picked in 25 minutes on a high profile multiple murder trial?
If so,sounds like his lawyer was asleep at the wheel!
Money wasted by his family.

May be a smarter lawyer then you think.
The lawyer could have been banking on a retrial before the trial.
Going into a trial with the odds of a not guilty verdict slim to none , looking down the road a little farther may be all you got.

reguardless of who shot first someone responded back in self defense, but there are five other unarmed bystanders who were killed in cold blood over a tree stand!!! now i have had poeple in my stand before when i got to them.but most of the i would let hunt the spot but if they got one from my stand i get a strap, and theres times when i would ask to leave but i didn't shoot anyone over it!!!

Anyway you cut it there was no justification for what he did. Let's say he was shot at, ok if someone shoots at me believe I have no problem shooting back if I feel that I am in danger. I have a child and I sure ain't going to orphan her because of some Idiot with a temper problem.
But then following that by shooting more unarmed people? come on now there was zero justification for his actions and I wish that state had a death penelty and used it, because people like that deserve to fry.

I didnt hear anything about him being shot at then again i havent heard anything in a while. All i know is that he was trespassing on private property I would have been yelling to he should not have been their and how do they know he was fired at.

well well, let me tell you, That cold day when it all happened, I was sitting in my hunting lodge, not more then 20 minutes from where it happened, and my uncle and my cousin went to the local store, to get some beer and such....My dad, myself, and my brother, were all sitting inside when we heard someone rap on our door....It was these two guys, telling us that theres this guy going around killing and shooting people....I was in shock, and was like are you for real, or is this just some game...But I guess it wasnt...So we stood there and talked with them about what they heard, and about twenty minutes later, they left, soon after, my uncle and cousin arrive back...Saying the same thing, that they heard of some guy going around shooting people and what not....So now I was like just GREAT!!!... Knowing me, I was in the military, and if someone would come onto my land, and started screaming at me, and what not, and threating me with a gun, or even had that option in his mind, sure, I would have took a poke at him....I have 120 Acres, next to 7000 acres of County and state land....Theres always people from Lousiana that come up, and what not to bear hunt....Damn is that a costly sport...LOL....So back to the subject....we have never heard of anything like this....All I can say,is, sure, he was trespassing, and sure he did provoke the owners of that land, but when you see him, he had no license, he had no blaze orange on, and in WIsconsin, you have to have 50% of your torso blaze orange, and your something on your head blaze ornage....It was late, it was after hunting time....after sunset...And he came walking upon these guys, on their way out of the woods....Sure, he probably got scared, but what he did was no accident, you dont kill that many people, and then look back, and say, what did I do? Even if someone did fire at him, you dont go around and kill off his family and friends, I mean come on, be theoretical here, the man was crazy, and if it was me he walked upon, he would have NOP CHANCE IN HELL to fire that AUTOMATIC weapon that he had....

ya. i agree josh. there ain't no excuse for wat happened. no on his part. i remember many tokens on this topic. one fella was 16 killed along side his dad. i don't believe the man would have risked his 16 year lod sons life by shooting at some stranger. also if i remebber right he shot someone on an atv. to many unarmed folks for him to clame self-defense. thats what the article i read said. maybe his lawyer wanted him off the streets too. i would have.
