Caught a 6.5 pound flathead and a 7.75 pound channel last week in 2 " rockies on the docks in the Des Moines River at Birdland Park here in Des Moines. River dropped 2.5 feet in 18 hours Monday. Hope to repeat the feat this week, but have a sneaking suspicion that the cats have begun spawning.

Be careful in that park. I haven't had the best experiences there. It will be pretty popular this weekend.

i talked to a guy at the river in town and he said that he fishes the des. river and thay havent been catching much well nothing to write home about
