New Eagle Cuda 242 fishfinder ($80) works great. Good reading at top speed, even.
Water temp 74, level higher than 2 weeks ago, shallowest reading I had all night was 2.6 feet, right near the ramp.
Never saw another boat until we got back to the ramp.
Two empty sheriff vehicles and empty flat bunk trailer at the ramp at 12:30 AM, but I never saw them on the river.
We did pretty well (3 fish in the mid teens) for the bait we had, and the duration of the trip.
Knock on wood, but I'm 100% on takes/fish on circles this year. Corner of the mouth, everytime.
Yawwwwnnnnn... time for bed....
Wow, you guys are still up, too? Sleep well! Thanks for the kind words,
Best Regards,
Tony

Looks like you had a great time with your son. Myself and TA2D are going up to upper Michigan around the end of September. Can't wait.

Well it sure appears to me, That your son has caught more and even bigger cats than I. As a matter of fact, My son called me from Colorado just the other day and said he caught a 20lb Yellow Cat, (which I think is a Flathead).
There is no dought about it, I have to get me one of those Big Boys in the boat.

Wow sounded like an awesome night. I bet your son had a ball catching those beasts. I never got to catch big fish like that when i was young.:smile2:

Son, you ARE young...

I didn't get bit by the flathead bug until I was 35...
