Cat-chaser, I have been asking the same question for as long as I have been a B.O.C. member. I am originally from Start , Louisiana, bout 10 miles east of monroe. 5 miles west of Rayville. I would like to find someone from this area that Will be able to take me fishing when I come home to visit. I do not like to pull my boat that far, bout 5 hour trip for me.

If you are from Monroe, Start,Rayville,Delhi, winnsboro, or Bastrop, any towns around please join the B.O.C. I would like to attend a gathering in this area.:confused: :confused:

Not the closest to you but there will be a gathering on the red in Bossier City the first weekend in March. The thread is on the Red River Roundup page. I have to work that weekend but there will be alot of people there to visit with. Even a taxi service to the beach!

lafayette here too.....just switched to catfishing gave bassing up! i got some good spots here, my last fishing trip was in nov, me and the wife caught 4 nice cats, one 12, one 9 and two fours in about three hours, the weather got very windy so we packed it in. been trying to get out the last couple of weeks but the weather aint been cooperating. will go this wensday morning , the wind forcast is 10-15 knots out of the south, but i am getting desperate! and duane, i know the owner of PATS in henderson, he lets me know when he drains his crawfish processing plant into bayou amite.....thats when the fishing is best!

I am in Louisiana to see my new grandson. I decided to go on a recruitment mission. I think/hope I have two new members ready to join. Time will tell. One recruit is already set, he has an RV and a pontoon boat. but he had no fishing gear. I hope to take him to a tackle store to show him some cat gear. wish me luck!!!

Hey Bud used to fish henderson and Bayou amy but tooooo... many boaters with no respect I try to stay away from that place I fish in the marsh by Delcambre found some nice cats plus I can redfish in the same trip.it about the same milage from lafayette if you go down Hwy 339 Ill show you if your interested .My biggest this year is a 20 lb der.Hoping to get out there this weekend if the boss lets . Have you ever fished the atachaflya river at Butte La Rouse when you leave the landing go left about a mile down ther is a sandbar great fishing early summer

charlie now your talking jean marie landing Man we must be on the same page .i fish out of dons landing every weekend in the summer time .Every weekend im a lgend out there I got a 14 ft flat with a 8hp nissan .man i get looks but after 5 years everyone knows me .When going to Boston canal sure you know the place take ICW to boston canal take left before you get to the camps secong cut on left fish there with night crawlers then go up that canal to the y fish there on a moving tide . Up past the camps on a falling tide got out the canal about 25 ft to left there a hole always stacked up with Reds .

Hello Charlie, My name is Randall Duhon and I am from Abbeville. Nice to have another catfisherman from the BOC near by. Me and Duane tried to set up a trip together but things kept coming up. I have been working all over the place since the hurricane wiped out our work place and it is hard to plan a trip too far in advance. Me and my wife are planning a trip to the marsh this Sunday if I do not have to work. Let me know if you guys are going this weekend and I will keep a eye out for y'all.

hey randall, duane is 95 percent sure he can make it sunday....i am 100 percent. if duane cant make it, my wife is gonna come. if me and wife go, i will dock at jean marie, id me and duane goes we are gonna dock at dons {98 green chevy truck, tool box and mud grips}. if the current and wind aint to bad, i will fish at the end of oaks canal. and try out some of duanes hot spots he gave me in the boston canal! either way i will be in a 14 ft sun bleached green, flat bottom with a 30 mariner. hope to see yall out there..charlie r....ps heating up some grease right now....reds and tator tots

Hey Charlie, I can smell the fish cooking from here lol. I think me and the wife will be going Sunday but will be docking out of Intracostal City and fishing on the other side of the bay in the marsh. If the bay is not too rough we may cross over to the other side to where you guys will be fishing. I have Duane's cell# and will give him a call if we make it accross. Randall your Alive !! Hey me and my boss went out of cypremore point today man it was windy and couldnt get a bite to save my life . Anyway sunday going out to ICW by way of boston canal. Gonna show Charlie some spots and bring a friend to break in a new boat .Charlie going out sunday only till 12;00 wife gotta work gonna take my own boat so bring the wife also gonna baby sit my buddy he is taking out his new express bay boat to breack her in you know 1/2 houe idle speed ....2 hours 3/4 speed till you burn a tank of gas .Going out of dons landing I am not impresses with Jean marie landing I will call tomorrow night you can either meet me at the ICW or follow me out of Dons landing but remember im just pushing a 8hp nissan I get about 15 mph >randall my buds been stinging the reds out at the worm hope we can get to fish soon .Dont work tooo hard it causes stress

Hey Randall ive been set up.You know I thought I was dealing with a stranger this a.m. But this guy from a technical school showed named charlie ,imagine that when I saw who Charlie was we went to A/C school together .Anyway this guy has been following me through the years I guess waiting till I became a Master Catman then out of the blue he showes up all inocent saying hey I see you belong to a class of extrodaniry gentlemen a group of masters in there own realm .Well charlie its out buddy you've stalked me through the years to find my secrets of catfishing today you fished my spots you've seen my 8hp nissan at work .you came you saw you caught now go find your own fish !!!! Just Joking hey im only 5 minutes away at 95 mph see you next week maybe we can go fish Randals holes so we can say we stalked him ,well his boat maybe faster than ours . Nice catch did you go by the game wardens camp ? Hows the crabbing I know there running in the refuge .Sooner or later we are gonna meet if nothing else we can go eat in Abbeville .Hows the work schedule .Yea Charlie got a nice mess of fish ,I couldnt seem to get in the game i started storing my rods in my shed and I think all the gas fumes circulating in there tainted my line .I knopw if you touch your line with gas on them from your fuel tank you can forget about catching fish that day.Hummmm ....did manage to catch a few after I rubbed catfish slime on my line .Anyway nice to have you around again thinking about a South Louisiana Gathering

Yes Duane, we caught them by the game wardens camp. My work schedule is unpredictable. I just got to work this morning here at the airport in Lafayette and just learned we have a broke helicopter in Galveston. I may be heading that way. You have to watch out for those gas fumes lol. Hey guys, I am still working in Galveston but hope to be home by this weekend. Charlie I caught those cats out of Intracostal City at the Paul Rainey Refuge. The bay can get really bad at times so watch the weather carefully if you decide to go to Marsh Island. My 5 year old grandaughter is going to be spending the week-end with me and I will try and take her fishing for the first time Sunday. Y'all have a great day, talk to y'all later.

If my son comes we gonna go with joe are maybe joe and james will take his boat and well take your boat they both like saltwater fishing better than me > I like the idea of a jon boat easy to clean good on water and im not in a hurry so your boat is just fine saturday things could change lets wait till then either way I know you and I are going

When I found out I did not have to go to work this morning I loaded up and went fishing. I should of stayed home. The wind was blowing 30 mph and was very hard to fish. Did manage to bring home 4 cats. The Bay that I have to cross had some 4 foot waves and I got beat up and a little wet. Here are a couple of pics of todays trip.
