do we have catapla worms in pa? ive heard that they are a good bait but i have no clue where to find them. i dont think i even know what they look like?
any help would be appreciated.:cool2:

I've heard of the elusive catalpa worm but have never seen one in person. I look at every catalpa tree I see and have never found one with worms on it.

We used to have a lot of 'em around here when I was a kid, but now I never see any. Me and my son went looking in all the spots where I used to get them and we couldn't find any. :confused2:

I havet been looking for them yet. But I know I find them on a couple trees that I do check. It might be to early yet. Good luck:confused2:

This link says you'll be able to buy them on line soon. Has some good info on them. I always heard of them being called catawba worms myself. My grandfather use to have Catawba (or Catalpa) trees about 2 dozen or so that we would pick the worms from. "The best bait in the world" he use to say for catfish! This was the first bait I ever used for cats as my grandfather taught me how to fish.
