you are in the middle of the best fishing in Ga.
go up the street from the base to Chuck's Gun shop and ask around
they'll tell you where fishing is
If you still need to learn more, call Les Ager at the Ft Valley office of the Ga. DNR he writes for Ga sportsman . Les is easy to talk with and always helpful.
Lake Tobesofkee is in macon
Flint river is on Hwy 96 west of base
Ocmulgee river is on 96 east south of base
Good Luck

I am also interested in some fishing areas. I will be in Ga for almost 3 weeks visiting my mom in the middle Ga area south of Macon in August. I am more so looking for flatheads or big blues. Not interested in the ponds that my family fishes in that area. Any details will be helpful. Looking to fish at least twice while I am down there.
