October fishing

Does anyone feel that October is better than September for catching big flatheads? They should be feeding more heavily and storing up fat for the winter. Was just wondering if any of you have any experience with good fall fishing, particularly with trotlines and jugs. Went on Labor day and trotlined and jugged but didn't do to good. Maybe I need to wait until October!
