I had such a great time at the last get together. I want to have a fall get together, but wanted to hear from the guys of which lake or river you would like to have it at. Just let me know. I would prefer not to have alcohol there since we will have kids around. I guess that might have a few not coming, but tough. I would like to have it locally to everyone, and knowing that it is going to be tough, as close as we can. Please try to have better excuses than before so we can have a good turn out.... :p ... I know work does get in the way and that is understandable. Maybe this time we could have a cookout or pot luck. I thinking about giving prizes to the kids that catch the biggest fish or something to that effect. Send me a Pm or e-mail..or just post here so you can get your post numbers up. LOL.
I look forward to hearing your ideas, plans, and of course the great excuses...LOL

The only thing about Deer Creek I dont like is by the spill way not much room to work with. Just before you get to the Dam there is an area that looks prime fishing main lake part. Ive never fished anything but the Dam and didnt catch a thing had a couple of bites on Gill tho.

Hello Everyone!!!! Sounds great and count me in.Alum creek would be my first choice only because i have pontoon over there and dont trailer it just leave it over there and could take 3-4 people without boats.Other than that ill go anywhere you have it. Have a great one!!

Well guys , It's looking like Dillion or maybe the Muskingnum River. Since some want a shot at getting a large flathead. Dillion lake is unlimited on motors.

I say Lake Logan. Lot's of nice flats come from there. And it's only about 250 acres.
maddcatter
09-09-2005, 09:12 PM
I do think it has a 10 horse limit though. But Really nice flatheads!!! :D
madcatter.... I never thought of Lake Logan. It is a very short drive for me and I have never made it there fishing for flats yet. Even if the gathering is not at Lake Logan I have got to get the boat out on it. Abu

I haven't fished there is there a good bit of room for bank fishing?
maddcatter
09-09-2005, 09:54 PM
I've never been there but Tony and I have talked about going there. Like I said, It's not a really big lake, so finding spots shouldn't be too hard. Oh yeah, And if you look on the odnr website, It shows a map of the lake with depths and Boxes? planted in the lake for cover. It seems like a good lake for Flatheads. Most of the big flatheads on the odnr website are from Lake Logan.

Logan does look like a good spot even looks like I may be able to cast to some of the deep holes LOL.

I am in favor of Lake Logan,it would be so much easier for me to get to than the others.I have bank fished there, and have done pretty good. Its in a beautiful area of Ohio near Hocking Hills. It is a really nice lake with plenty of room to bank fish.I was wondering,if we do go to Lake Logan if someone would let me fish on their boat with them?I have been catfishing for years, but always from the bank.I would rally like to experience catfishing on the lake.If no room thats cool too.So I give Lake logan 2 thumbs up for an Ohio get together, its only about 1 1/2 hours away from my house.Well, its time for football!Keep me posted. I've never heard of anyone doing good for flatheads at dillon aside from the spillway. Lake logan has some really nice ones from what I've seen.

Ok, guys I'm going to fish Logan fri. night. If anyone wants to join me let me know. I will be fishing with bull72chvy(Jon) so far. I need to know asap.

We got togther at lake Logan. Bull72chvy(Jon), doughboy(Brian with son, Kelly), RamRod(Johnny with son Michael). We got to the lake before dark and set up. Used everything and only doughboy got a small cat. I think the full moon had something to do with it.
The next day Brian, Kelly, Johnny, Michael and my lady and myself went to Dillion Lake. My lady and Michael rode in my boat and Brian and kelly rode with Johnny in my father's boat. We cast netted several shad and drifted for some cats. My team in my boat got four channels. I haven't heard from the other team, which tells me that they didn't do so good. But over all I had a great time for the weekend. I'm looking forward to getting together again.
Now with that said I want to get together next weekend and hit the river, maybe Ohio or Muskingnum. Tell me what you all think.

Just let us know and we will be there

Good fishin between Zanesville and Marietta on the Muskingum. If you want any info around the Beverly lock, let me know, I know that stretch very well although the info I have is old. I used to fish it 3 days (Fri, sat and sun) for 4-5 years. Of course that was 15 years ago

If you would like to know of a good bankfishing spot in zanesville, I know a couple. Right in zanesville, the is a bar called terry's tavern. Right behind the bar is a really good hole for flatheads. Also, the Y-bridge is another good place, but it's right in the bad parts of town, so don't go alone.

Ok, guys I want to get together next week end and the feed back I get is nobody can come on fri. and ,I know the gas prices don't help much. But I'm going to put up a here some lakes we can go with to get together. I was going to plan on Sat. night.
Lakes to choose from:
Buckeye Lake(unlimited hp)
Dillion Lake(unlimited hp)
Lake Logan(10 hp)
It seemed better last time for people to bring there own food or if you guys want to bring something and have a pot luck that is fine.Last but not least, boats. If yor going to bring a boat let me know. I want to make sure that everyone has a boat to ride in or if you prefer to bank it. Let me know on all these questions.

Clarence depending on Gas prices I should be able to make it, no boat would be bank bound. If Gas goes up past $3 again tho I wouldnt count on me making it.

Well got together with my son in my boat(Mud Shark) and Jason and Johnny and his son in another boat(Kelly Girl). Needless to say it was a good fight, but Team Mud Shark came though again. My son and I didn't stay the whole night ,but it was a great time. All the bets on fish were fun and need to be paid up. :p (Bottles ,not cans...lol) Overall it was a good time and can't wait for everyone to get back together again. It seems that there is not to much feedback on the next weekend outing. I know it is the first day of bow season. But let us know something.

Hey got puter fixed again.LOL. Had a great time the other night. Thanks again Johnny for having me out in your boat. We'll get ya the next time Clarence.LOL. Found out while reeling in a fish and the crank falls off is a weird felling. So my excuss is equipment failure.

All,
I will keep an eye on where yall are going to fish. I want to make it but that will depend on how many airlifts we will have this weekend. Were sending alot of personnel down south in support of the Huricane. If I do not have to work I will be able to show with my ultimate catfish boat. :D
Hope to meet yall,

If I can go, I will be bank fishing.... unless someone would like some company on a boat.
RamRod
10-15-2005, 11:46 PM
OK, here's the plan. The get together will be at dillon lake. We need to all come up with a date and I would like for it to be an all-nighter. Willing to have a contest for something, would like to get some ideas from everyone. I will be bringing a boat and have room for 1 person. Would like to get enough boats together so everyone could go out on a boat. I'm willing to put up a new Ugly Stik Catfish rod for the most catfish caught for the night. Was also thinking of having a pool where everyone puts say $5 in a jar and the biggest fish caught takes home the cash.
I'm just throwing out ideas to everyone, if you have any ideas let me know. But I would like to get together maybe next weekend if possible.
So, let's hear it everybody.
