My favorite place to fish in my area is Lake Manawa just south of Council Bluffs. The other day I was doing some google searches about Manawa and came across an article about the history of the lake. Here's the link (http://www.sailmanawa.com/sos/sos_view.cgi?p=119). The actual article is about half way down the page. I knew it was popular back in the early part of the last century, but I didn't realize how much had sprung up around there back then, especially the old north shore. If you know where to look you can still find some of the old posts from the boardwalk. It's just too bad the lake isn't as deep as it used to be.
