What's up y'all. Just wandering around here trying to figure things out. Kind of lost actually. :)
Welcome all new and old Ohio members. I love the format switch. It is so much easier to navigate. It is the same format as many other sites I visit and always hoped BOC would change to this format. You can read all the new messages by date with a click of the mouse and will not have to go to a tree view anymore. Penn, sorry forgot already, Abu is my new user name :)

Dave and Abu, great to have ya back on the new board. This is just awesome, but will take some getting used to for sure. Hopefully we can all hook up and fish soon before the weather heads south on us.

Ok...time to throw down the gauntlet on short notice! This is directed at ryang (Gary) and Teaysvalley or loanwizard(Shawn), but any of you guys can represent the great state of Ohio in a friendly gathering of BOC brothers across borders. One night on the Maumee River out of Toledo, and one night on the Raisin River in Monroe, Michigan. Pure catfishing. Stakes? Bragging rights! LOL. Now, a little birdie from Ohio told me that we don't know anything about catfishing in this state, :0a14: well we're willing to put that theory to the test! The catch is it has to happen on short notice! More to follow...
ryang
08-28-2005, 08:55 PM
Will it be this year Vic? Im ready for some FISHING LOL. I dont know too much about the Maumee, but with some good buckeye bait Im sure we will WIN. Comon guys lets put these Crazy Maze and Blue fans to shame. For me to go it would have to be on the weekend tho I know that Tea and Shawn have a little different scheduals. Is Sal also joining Vic? Cant wait for this.
dreamcatcher
08-29-2005, 05:14 PM
Give me some ideas. I wouldn't want to go off on this thing half cocked. The reason I suggested the Maumee out of Toledo and the Raisin River from Monroe is proximity to the border. The Raisin is roughly 15 miles from the border and holds a good stock of channel catfish. I'm sure neither one of us want to go too deep in the other state. Might just go native if you're not careful.LOL. Seriously though, is anybody familiar with Toledo in the way of a campground to spend the night? What I'm thinking is spending Friday night/early Saturday morning on the Maumee and then Saturday night/Sunday morning on the Raisin? We also know the Maumee holds flatheads, which Don and I would like to get a hold of before the year is out. I don't know how far you guys are from Toledo, but if Sal and Don were to make the trip they would be driving a much greater distance than me. I could probably get to Toledo in roughly an hour. It was just something I was thinking about on short notice, since Don is planning to fish with me soon. Oh, the other thing is that a boat is essential. Sal has a boat and Don has one. If we can't get it together because of logistics or scheduling on short notice we can postpone it to next year, but who knows what's going to happen next year? LOL. Let's get it done this year if we can...

i was originally from mason (where kings island is), but i was living in middletown before i joined the army. it's just the other side of dayton. i can't remember the name of the road i lived off of, i think it was dayton-bethany, or something like that. it's been a few years, and i didn't live there long enough to become familiar with it. i know i lived just across the street from some culligan dealer.

Got an e-mail from Flathunter, checked out the site (nice job) and decided to register. Been on ohiogamefishing.com for a while, and gofishohio.com before that. I'll fish anwhere, any time, but like to target big cats. I've been fishing the Great Miami River down here for forty years. Don't get around so well any more, so I like to get to a spot and stay on it a while - all day, all night. Have a few favorite places in SW Ohio on the GMR and around, and I'll share when I get into some good fish. My son and fishin' partner is ate up with big cats as well, but one of his friends got him interested in the fishin' the dark side (LM/SM Bass) last Spring, so he splits his fishing time now. I guess he could be doing worse things with his life!
We spend a good deal of time on the Knightsbridge Dam in Hamilton, flats and channels in spring/summer/fall, carp all year, 'eyes & smallies fall/winter/spring.
Stop out and fish with us sometime.
