Bowfishing the neosho river in Kansas

Anyone bowfish on the Neosho? I watched "Closing the Distance" last night on outdoor life channel and they were bowfishing for big carp and they shot a huge gar. Do the gar get that big around here?

I saw that show also, it looked like fun.

I have a few friends that shot gar on the Neosho river. You will find the size of gar on the river like you saw on the show. They mainly shot spotted gar.

I went 2 weeks ago with a friend from Erie. We did it at night for gar. we took turns holding the spotlight. We ended up shooting 13 gar. And two of them got hung up.
