SkipJack fishing at Columbia lock and dam in Lousiana

I am coming to Louisiana May 20 thru May 23. My brother and I hope to go to Columbia lock and dam the afternoon of 22 May. I have my grand son Kindergarten graduation to attend that morning and it will be the afternoon before I can get away.

I am told that skips can be caught at the dam, All info will be appreciated. Lure color, how rigged, If anyone would like to attend meet us at the dam.

I hope to fish below the dam at Columbia, Louisiana, in the near future. I would like to know if anyone caught and cats below the dam, what did you use as bait. how did you rig your rods?

I fish on the Tennessee River and would love to know what lure to catch skipjack with also. Ive been told a small white/silver in line spinner (like a Mepps) works great but Im not sure
