Slow...slow...slow...slow...slow...

Where's summer when you need it??

Still picking up channel cats yet nothing to brag about- P1, 2, & 3. Flats are MIA...

Water temp still low, 56-57 or somewhere in there. Think we need another 5 degrees or so to start to see some action.

I am afraid you are right about the water temps Chris. The flats have to start biting soon though! I am going to give it another go this weekend and see how things shape up. Channels have been fairly active this year, nothing wrong with that!

I took off part of the night of work to go scout some possible spots for walleye this weekend. Talked to quite a few people from New Ulm all the way to the Chaska area. The Flatties are starting to bite all over on the MN river. I saw 2 really nice flatties in the low 20# range, and few people who were fishing and catching flatties off of shore fishing right off of creek inlets. For the most part they were casting into the current and letting the current take their bait towards the bank. Suckers were the bait of choice. The few runs I saw were awful slow and finicky, but that should change in the next week or so.

Ryan,
Thanks for the update. When and if the river goes down this year. We gotta get together.
Good luck if your heading out on the Opener this weekend. Its gonna be a cold one. Upper 30s to low 40s with rain predicted in the mornings.
Dress warm and get your good raingear out.
thanks
Larry
