I'm thinking about going to Mississinewa Reservoir this weekend and i was just wandering if anyone had any tips about catfishing there. I'm not gonna put my boat in i'm just gonna fish from the bank. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

I went up there and fished with my family one time about 3 years ago, the lake was really low due to the repairs they were making on the dam, I don't know if they are still making repairs or not, but we didn't have much luck on the lake, so we ended up going below the dam and caught some nice channels and a walleye on chicken livers.

I was there about a week ago and it was still at winter pool. Try fishing around pearsons mill boat ramp or around red bridge.

Anybody ever tried fishing below the spillway? If so how is the fishing there?

I've fished in the spillway alot. If you want some eaters, use crickets right in between the walls where the water churns up. It get's very crowded on the weekends. I know of a good place on down river from there, PM me and I'll get you a map to it.

The DNR shocks the tailrace every summer to collect fish for the state fair display. Usually pull out a couple pretty nice flatties. Seen a bunch of paddlefish there too!
