anyone know if its open for fishing yet? im sure it is but id hate to drive out thier and it be closed,also anyone know if the back part of the lake is open? i know last year it was closed due to construction....the area they pump water at.

Kris,I called T&T bait shop down by the P.S.I. Lake Gibson .
And talked to Jim the owner. He said the Lake was OPEN, he thinks.
I will check tomorrow, and if it is not open I will let you know.

Kris, I went out to the P.S.I. Lake and talked to the guard at the gate.
He said that they were open AT 7 to 5 Monday to Friday and 5 to 5
Saturday & Sunday. He said there was a man ,last week,that came out, and caught 100 ,and kept 75, They were no bigger than 3/4 to 1 lb. But,a lot of them. And yes ,I would like to go next week . I will not be home till Thursday & Friday I have to work Saturday
of next week . We can take the Pontoon boat .:)

i have to work saturday of next week as well {04-29-06) the only day ill have off is that sunday we can go then if you can...never fished gibson from a boat,that could be fun.

Hey guys is the fishin pretty good that way i just live at a farm down in owensville and would love to go sometime.....i honestly had now clue that there was a lake there......bad part is grandpa and dad work @ the powerplant with their construction company :crazy:

I love fishing that place when I was a kid. Grew up in Evansville. If I can remember, you go highway 41 and turn at the Princeton exit and go towards Mt. Carmel.. Am I right????? I just remember my dad driving this direction. I used to catch a billion channel cats there.

Yes,that is right you turn left on to HWY64 and go towards Mt. Carmel ILL.
That lake has been there about 35 years.:smile2:

Garry do they have a hp restriction on the lake? Never fished there but would like to sometime. Also is bank fishing permitted? sorry for all the questions.

Catseeman, they have no H.P. restrictions on the Lake that I know of.
Yes ,you can bank fish at the boat parking lot. I talked to a man to day
and he caught 65 yesterday, and he had 12 when I was there today.
All was1/2 lb to 1 lb in size. He was bank fishing by the way. By the
boat ramp.
