yes i am , ilive in adel and it is a very good spot. good fishing and lots of room. It has a boat ramp above the dam on the other side of hwy 169.threr is a biat shop in redfield BUT my mom has a big creek that goes through her 40 acers and there are some ponds with lots of bullhead. i am at the river all the time now it well.great idea!!!!!

adel has elec. hook up in the center of the camp grounds. lakes get realy busy that time of the year tryed to fish it didnt like it but that was around the 4th so it wasent a good call on my part but adel gets busy on the 4th to so it is up in the air just like to see it happen.

the skunk river has elec and water hook ups also it would be in south east Iowa if the water is up its nice big fish in the skunk the access would be off of highway 61 also lake geode is good on stink bait that time of year its a state park with showers elec an water

Hey mikeskywalker , I tried to reply to your PM but this thing says I need 10 posts before I can. (kinda lame ) So I'm gonna click around and post HI everywhere.
Anyway, I fished Redfield spillway on Thursday and caught a few cats to eat. Nothin big was biting. The bait shop is now open full time in Redfield. Caught a bunch of crappie at Beaver lake and a 4# bass last week. The bass are getting huge there. Second time I've caught some 4 lbs or over.

I'm just down the road from it. On 15th st. Haven't been there yet this year, too busy tring to get crappie right now. The numbers seem to be pretty good since there wasn't any ice to fish on this year.

you can fish the state of Iowa. i can get you a form then get it back to me and i can give it to the guy at work helping to put it on. just give me a call, i dont work today and on friday and saterday i work first shift 7-3 i will be home at about 3:15.

I'm up for a gathering in Adel. I camp there a couple times a year it's a nice campground, good shower house, in my opinion can be hit or miss for the fishing, but a bad day fishing is better than a good day working. I live in Greenfield and this is my first time posting but I've been lurking in the background for awhile.

The July time frame seems to be the most agreeable. 21-23 (Fri, Sat & Sun) July was suggested, how about we mark that weekend on the calendar? Also, any ideas for a catchy name for our Iowa gathering of catfishing bretheren, as we are laying the foundation for this to potentially be an annual event.

For those who may not know, Adel is located approx. 12 miles west of West Des Moines on Hwy 6 or otherwise known as Hickman Road.

Hopefully there will be some more interested folks jump on board in the upcoming weeks.

With our gathering dates set on 21-23 July 06, we still need to come up with a name for our Iowa shin-dig.
Here is a couple of ideas to throw in the ring: Mid-Central Catfishing Summerfest or Annual Hawkeye Catfishing Jamboree.
Any other suggestions as to what we should call this catfishin' clinic we are about to put on??

i work on the 21 & 22 but i work at night so i can be down there until 10 on those night and fish all day whin i wake up and as for the name the first one that you mentioned works for me. there is a bait shop in redfield or i have 40 acers of creek i go and catch chubs at and there is ponds to catch bullhead at to.i have a catfishing contest coming up on the 10th of june so i will let you know how the fishing is. i am fishing on the river in adel seeing how it is that i live here.good to see that we are having a get together and until then good luck to all.

tom i welcome you and everyone with open fishing holes. it will be a good time, there is a park on the other side of hwy 169, it is by the boat ramp and there is a swiming pool right next to the park for those of you that have kids. the river goes right by the camp grounds so there are planty of places to tie up your boats.the cost is 12$ a night i am not sure what it is for campers with elec. but can find out. well if anyone has any questions contact me anytime.

steven there is no limit on motor size and would be proud to fish with another b.o.c brother. i fish alot below the dam and a little above it but plan on fishing up top alot more this year now that i have a boat that will go up river. looking forward to seeing you there.
