Coralville on 4/12/06

The last two afternoons, I've caught nice cats in some shallow water on Coralville. I caught 8 in about 45 minutes on Tuesday. Yesterday, I took my 10 yr old nephew out and he caught 10 in a little over 1 1/2 hrs. When the wind dies down, so does the fishing.

mike are you fishing from the bank or from a boat? hows the boat traffic? i've heard it gets a little ruff when it's nice and the pleasure boaters are out... have you tried below the spillway yet. are the crappie hitting yet..

Never fish for crappie. Coralville can get rough below Jolly Roger from boating. Not so bad now because the water's so low, the big boats would beach themselves. It's tricky going upriver past Jolly Roger. You better either know where you're going or go slow enough you can get yourself unstuck. There's three boats stuck up there now. They might just be there till they raise the level...:).
