I too wet a line in the GMR last night. I got to the water at 8:30pm and stayed till midnight. I set up about 200 yards downstream from a low dam and fished in the transition into a shallow slack water. I used shad and worms. Something little was robbing the worms, so I went all shad around 10:00pm. Though I got no serious bites, there was quite a show of jumping fish. I too saw a beaver that passed under my line about 10 feet from the bank.
As the temperature rises, I'm hoping for the bite to start getting heavy by next week.
