Want to try out lake Martin. Anyone have any info on this water. Any info at all would be helpful. Best ramps, places to get bait. Its kind of a long drive for me so I just want to be as efficient as possible

Lake Martin has flatheads, Channel and Blues there is plenty of deep water and it is Crystal clear. The bottom is Rocky with very little current The lake is shaped like a oak leaf the slues are a good place to fish and the mouth of feeder creeks.

I have only fished Martin a few times for stripes, not much cat experience on it. I do however work with a guy who grew up living on the lake and installing piers was his families business. I'll ask him for some info. If you want another cat spot to try about the same distance pm me....

to far north for me, but I did get to go camping there with my family this July. Tried to fish a little bit but there were about 450 million boats, pontoons and jet skis...Water is very clear and a great place to swim. Could be I am just to to redneck to fit in with all them folks..lol..

I have to agree with everything you said. good place to go camping and swimming but would not fish here on a regular basis . 450 million boats in the summer time is an understatement :ooooh:
