I was fishing one of my normal spots on the Tuscarawas River today around 2:30 today. Air temp was around 70, not sure on the other stuff. Cast out 4 nightcrawlers on a 5/0 circle hook to the bottom edge of a semi deep hole. Waited about 5 minutes and then WHAM!!, pole bent over and stayed over. I was able to horse him easily so I figured it to be a small channel. Nope not this time...a 37.5" flatty.

No scale, no camera, and only an eldery gentleman watching me from the other side of the river as a witness.

I hope to catch that one or a larger friend of his next time.

Mental note...put digital camera in tackle box.

Nice catch. Better get that camera fired up. Anymore stories like this and we might have to call them.............. Fish stories.
FOR the record. I caught a 40 incher last year after the spawn and it was
27lbs. It problaby could have gone 35 prior to spawn.
You had a nice fish.
way to go
thanks

Man if that is the average, than I better catch up.....I don't average fish that size from the tusc.

Heading for flatties tonight......hopefully I can start the year for flatties out with a decent one. Channels have been good to me so far, now it is also Flattie time!
