Gillespie lake

Anyone ever fish these lakes with luck all I can catch are bullheads? I go there with my wife because she doesn't like hitting the Mississippi with me.

I used to fish the old lake ( 10 hp limit ) in gilispie.. we used to have a lot there.. the coves and by the lilypads have some nice channelcat.. I've seen people fishing for bass with lures catch 5 lb channels there..:crying:

I have bass fished it several times it can produce nice bass on both lakes it just seems when I want to fish for the whiskered species I get yellow bellies or bullheads. For a fish being yellow it is not afraid to bite.:)
