Buddy and I were thinking about giving it a try with some bluegill as bait, anyone have any advice for fishing this lake?

get a contour map and find the channel and drop offs. That lake has an 8 inch limit on bluegills do using them for bait is a bad idea. Try some raw shrimp and turkey liver. I have yet to catch a catfish out of that lake.

Where would I find such maps at Jeff?
We ended up using chicken liver but had no luck, we were there from 10-2am

Watch out for the blue gills undersized. It's a 100 $ fine for each one that isn't. At least that's what I got fined last year at Olive creek south of Lincoln

I did not know that lol, seems like we're doing them a favor seeing how overpopulated the gills are in lakes.. :sad2:

If I remember right, my dad (catmanjeff) took me when I was younger and we would always lug all our fishing crap across the dam and fish for the night and it seemed like it was pretty good fishing, and off the handicap dock near the boat ramp by the park.

They move around. Get a contour map, find where the channel runs into the dam. deep hole there.

I don't remember fishing off the dam there. I do remember parking over by the dock and riding our bikes across the dam to get to the other side of the lake where the church picnic was. Your little bike had those little wheels and your legs looked like the side of the chatanooga choo choo and you kept begging me to slow down.:smile2:

ive been out there prolly 20 times this yr and cant get anything over 3 lbs most are 13 14 inches. Last yr i thought it was ganna be my new fav lake but ive noticed millions of shad and i think that might be the reason there are to many bait fish so hopefully they will have a good freeze so they kill off and next yr the big ones will bite
