Hell... I use to hunt.. but cost more to do it now....no lead for carts, or in the shotshells... Indian res permits... Takes longer to get to hunting areas that are "free areas" than to find a decent fishing area out of the towns...

Well since I started fishing again this year for the first time in 15years I'm gonna have to give cold water fishing a try. But I do enjoy watching football and laying in the heat, so I voted for that.

Fish 365 as why hunt when theres fishing?:big_smile: I'm fishing for catfish or Sauger or Crappie. Winter time is some of the best fishing we have here.
And that New 7ft 9" rod Puddle jumper built me is going to get a workout this fall and winter. Man its going to be one of the best Controlled drift Fishing rods I have had the pleasure to use in 30 years of fishing this way.

While most are sitting in a tree stand looking for horns. I'm sitting in a boat looking for Bubba to play tug-of-war with. The fall is the start of the winter feeding for the big boys. Favorite time of the year for me on the water.

I answered both, but this year I'm fishing. It's too hot during the bow season here. I'll probably wait until gun season (Nov-Dec) to deer hunt.

Due to the fact i use a boat usually to deer hunt and turkey hunt in the spring, i'll have either a bow or gun with me alot of times while i'm fishin. I love to hunt and fish.

I do both. Starting in Sept. Ill hunt 50% and fish 50%. By Oct is mostly hunting. By the middle of Dec. it will shift back to about 70% ice fishing, but Im still calling predators. Life is short, play hard.

Once the middle of October hits I am in the tree stand at 4 am trying to get my first deer with a bow. When firearms season opens in December it is all hunting.

Heres another vote for both, Ive been known to do both in the same day. Even while fishing the rifle is close at hand, ive scared deer off while reeling one in before.:embarassed:

some days I'll get up bout 4 to hit my stand come home to grab something to eat and get a nap in, get back out to my stand about 4 then hit the river after dark, I'll usually fish until I know the fall bite is dead completely usually only lasts a week.

Once the leaves start falling, and it cools down I go into another state of mind. My passion is hunting, fishing gets me through the off season. My boat doesn't get parked though, use it to get to some areas and waterfowl hunting.

I usually fish and hunt throughout the fall. I try to pop a couple deer real quick into the season and then its "BIG FISH TIME".....all winter long, all year long!:cool2:

If I'm in CA I fish, and I head to MN in Nov to hunt deer, I usually get a day or two of fishing in before the lake freezes over. After Thanksgiving I head back to CA unless I get hired in MN then I stay there until I get laid off. If I'm in MN I'm working and go fishing when I can, but in Nov I got a week deer hunting. The lake is usually froze over by then. When I can get more time there, I will hunt and trap.

After August 1st its squirrel hunting in the am and fishing in the pm. After October 1st its bow hunting until November 5th when trapping season opens. Times split between bow hunting and trapping except for the 3 weekends of gun deer season. Then its back to bow hunting until mid January. I have my best bow luck late in the season. Fishing is just a past time for me anymore, something to do from ice out until October 1st. You should have plenty of room on the water.
