Here's some more ideas I could come up with on the Nebraska River Gathering. These places are hotspots for the possibilty of catching some awesome Catfish. Granted some of these places might be to far to drive to and the such. That's plainly understandable by myself!! Here's the places I have chosen and feel free to comment and give your opinions!!
As far as dates. I would like to shoot for late August of maybe the first or second week of September. This can be an awesome time on the river, because of the catfish gorging themselves, before the winter onset!!
Here it is!

If your thinking on the Loup and Tri-County Canal defers the effect of being rivers, well inquire about it!! I know these places can rock on Cattin', regarless if they're canals!! Same difference in my book!!
Thanks!!
please vote and comment away!!

mo river all the way and i think its rud to start over on all of this why not let the other be but what ever im about done with the nebraska people on this thing  No hard feelings this way. To each there own!! I'm just throwing more possibilities out and seeing the results!! Take it or leave it!! I'm hoping this can satisfy more of the members and they can have more options to choose from. Believe me, I can make it to the Mighty Mo, just as much as, anybody out there! Sounds like your stuck on your ways!! Feel free to PM me and state your feelings!! Me rude? ask my wife and boys!!
its just too hard to please everyone...hell I would have put the loup canal as a choice if I think anyone would make it.....the canal is my prime spot...it's just easier to tell everyone where your gonna fish ahead of time and maybe someone will show up....hell satty met me out on the canal a while back, had a good ole time...and it's a easier if there is NO PRESSURE to be there...

i dont really care where it happens.. id like to be there but idk if ill be able to make it depending on distance and time and my financial situation at that time. but if its gotta be on the Mighty MO.. lets make it a good place.. KC or Waverly MO. sounds good :smile2:. well if we're gonna drive might as well make it a drive for everyone right? that way even the guys that wanna fish the MO gotta drive too LOL.
JK i know where everyones coming from, one guy wants everyone to fish around where hes used to so he feels more comfortable and such and theres nothing wrong with that. I myself get tired of fishin the same hole and welcome a dif place now and again.. but to be fair..nebraska members do have some what of a problem .. not all but alot... whineing, no call no shows, complaining, argueing...etc. Vic said in the very begining a poll wasnt the way to go others had a big problem with it.. and i can see why even when ya give a guy a choice you cant give enough or the right ones and when you add to it someone else is goin to have a problem with that.
so as far as a gathering here in Neb goes i really have no clue.. i tryed the NE gathering it was a flop... tho i did have fun with those who did show and stick around.. i even tried the hook up on here and pm and txt and talk on the phone to guys got confermation on when and where we were gonna fish even had a few of them no call no show not all but a few..
idk about the rest of you guys but i was brought up where a mans only as good as his word.. i stand behind mine its how i was brought up.. i understand things come up but whats up with these guys from NE???

Well, I can see this going both ways. I understand everybodys' opinions and the such. This can be a good thing or just another flop!! Definently looks like the majority of the Nebraska members aren't really into this gathering and that's fine by me. Does it really have to be this way? Are we scared of meeting each other face-to-face? What people we might think of each other? I could care less!! Myself, I would be overjoyed at the opportunity to communicate and fish with the members of the Nebraska BOC!! Hoping we can get along!! If you want me to close this poll, I definently will!!
If you want to call me and converse on this subject, then here's my phone number and I'm all ears!
Here it is!!
Phone: 402 463-9322 or 402 984-0317 :leave message
Thanks and maybe we can change some ways!! I'm open to all suggestions!!

I stuck with the blue and it's the farthest drive for me, next to the MO. And as I've stated before I can't walk in the MO so that's why I won't fish it. Bank fishing sucks butt, and since I'm stuck to it right now I'm going to vote for a place where I can get my feet wet.
I'm not against the canal because I know that it produces good cats every year. I'm against the MO because the only real way to fish it is with a boat. And personally I haven't heard any offers from those that do have boats to buddy up with the other members. Which is fine because I don't like strangers in my boat either. And nobody is stranger than me.:smile2:
Also I would say the location for the blue should be Beatrice because there are two camp grounds down there one of which is 200 foot from the river.
And I would do the republican too. Any of the smaller rivers work for me because than all I need is my car and gear cheaper for me and I can make it work. As long as it's not anywhere close to my wedding. Because that would not make momma happy. I'd say either the first week in Sept or the last week. Pick a time and place away from those two weeks and I'm pretty sure (85%) that I can make it this time. Momma is tired of hearing about how I didn't make it to the last one.

hell I can't wait to meet ya face to face..it's not that...this is just a topic where EVERYONE WILL have a different view of it's not just yes or no....everybody just want to fish there own back yard ya know...I have met 2 members already this year(both at the canal) and plan on fishing with skawez this weekend at bluestem...and i don't think anyone is scared of anything but me getting all there flatheads out of their backyard fishing hole:smile2: Mark I got faith in ya! get this going and I WILL be there
just another idea lets make it a friendly tourney...more bragging rights will attract more ppl...just a thought

Well... I already voted earlier. Why can't a guy fish from the bank? I've got some real good spots @ neb city if a guy want to catch a bunch of flathead. I've lost some good fish at theese spots. How did a fella land a 47 pound flathead from the bank here he was just bank fishin with some worms. Chris and I have a friend that landed a blue what was it 60 pounds from the bank. I won a tournament because I fished a bank spot yeah I was in a boat but had I not stopped there I wouldn't had caught my 2 biggest channels ever and not come home with $300 if you guys have it on the river I'm sure me chris and a few others that have boats would let ya ride along. We had a minigathering saturday not realy but mo river man come down and we had a good time chasing each other even tho nothin was realy caught due to the weather. Have a good time

Well so far the majority vote is leaning toward the Little Blue. That satisfies my too. I voted for the Loup Power Canal, because I thought it was more centrally located for most of the members to attend. Not sure if there's campground anywhere, but I do know it's one heck of a place to fish!! Hoping more members chime in and post some ideas. John!! I know you live way out west and I feel for ya bud. Knowing most of the members live in the Eastern part of the state, so we have to sastify them too!! Not everybody has a reliable HORSE and BUGGY to make it to the gathering!!

http://www.catfish1.com/forums/poll.php?do=showresults&pollid=839 here it is.... lots of pople voted i might just vote again... must be florida or something... how do you mark the ballot??? also looks like some out of state people voted too keep them in mind also... i have meet alot of people on here jake, zach, i think mazda bob once, skawez and the last one bone cracker .. at one point in time we were all getting to gether on the river at least 2 times a week and reeling in some good fish.. just look at the river thread from 2006-2007.. it seemed like neb city was the mecca of nebraska catfishin' back in them days.. alot of fish between 30-60 pounds were caught.. i remember zach catching a big flathead and me and chris were nice enough to meet him at the dock to weigh it and i had a video of it... i think he caught his best flathead ever that same night of 50 some pounds... 2008 gave up chris's big fish 2007 there was one hualed in... i have lost some big ones just like chris's other half did last year and probably all the rest of us have in the past.... you guys forgot to put two rivers state park there are alot of big channels around there.... if anyone want to ever come down fishin' shoot me a pm or something i always have a seat for someone different to go out... if you want to catch a bunch of flathead or try to go after the big one that seems to always break the lines... big fish lil fish i don't care how big it is as long as i'm on the water and not at work... sometimes alot of little fish is always better than gettin skunked chasing a big one.... idk just ranting

ok JR i hear where your coming from and understand it.. dont get me wrong i enjoyed fishin with ya and i enjoyed fishin the mighty MO and ive fished it from Neb city with you and Iburg all the way down to Rulo with James.. and i have to say the farther south ya go the better the fishin is.. but i dont have the finances to make the trips up there like i did last year... not to mention i have found some lakes around here that are doin as well as the river sounds to be doin.
as for the out of staters go on the polls.. ill let you know what i learned from the last gathering.. just becuase they vote dont mean they will show up... and just because you show up dont mean your fishin where you want to fish. look at the lake gathering pole how many voted??? well ill tell ya what with as long as it took to finalize that gathering and with as much time and yes some of us put money into it.. 5 ppl were there another shoed up and went home sick and yet 2 more showed up and were gone before anything started!!
seriously all this bickering and this and that isnt worth the headache when it comes down to it... if we want to have a gathering just get a couple guys and say hey on this weekend we will be down at this place if ya might wanna come pm me and we can hook up.. youll get better results.. ok youll get less arguments but close to teh same amount of no show no calls.. idk why.
so... when i get back from Halsey NE ill do what i can to hook up with yall on the river and do some fishin k... aug 6-9th ill be fishin Calamus.. so if any one out that way wants to hook up while im up there PM me and ill give ya my #... This saturday night Frankie and I are gonna be fishin Bluestem.. if anyone wants to fish that with us PM me and ill get you my # and you can join us.
it's on like donky kong.....bluestem this saturday nite  I'm looking forward to my first lake flathead...maybe some others will show up...or if anyone wants to ride along with me for the trip let me know...
skawez bluestem isn't a catch and release for flatheads is it????

Thanks Steve! Allow me to update the poll. Appears that the leader of the Nebraska River Gathering is the Missouri River at the present time. It's still early on the poll, so anybody can chime in and vote. So have we set a date and time yet? Does everybody agree with the weekend of the 5-6 or 12-13 of September? Do we want another night fish or during the day!! Weather can change pretty dramatically this time of year, so I would like to opt for the day myself.
Let's see some more posts on this!!
Thanks.
Mark.
by the way!! Frank and Steve, have a good one at Bluestem, hoping you guys nail them!! Good luck bros!!

Love to hook up with you guys ( Frank and Steve) at Bluestem, but I'm thinking about fishing a tournament at Midway near Cozad on Saturday. Not sure yet either. Brother-in-Law is thinking about coming up to, so we might chase the cats and wipers on Elwood again or maybe the White Bass at Johnson Lake. The Whites have been coming into the inlet now, chasing the Shad, so you have to be there to catch them. Fun and Fast action!!
later..

Im lookin forward to fishing with ya Mark we just gotta get the time distance and finances figured out to make it happen.. if ya hit that tournament good luck!! and if ya go chase'n the rest of those just mark your bait with a FB and theyll think its Frankies bait.. :smile2:
i voted for more then one on this poll cuz i couldnt on the last pole, but its all good cuz i voted for the blue cuz its the closest and i wanna fish it with not only you guys that know how to but with some new fishin buddies.
I also voted for the Republican cuz well isnt that what dumps into Harlan? and where i got my PB Channel and i been tryin to figure a way to make it back down there.
yea the republican dumps out of harlans spillway...then kansas gets there share (or more than there share) we have to pay kansas for the water we use if over the said amount....and from the sounds of it water is expensive

hey Mark I hear elwood is being gravity fed and rising...let me know how it goes if you make it out there...
different poll same results...we are just torn between the mo and the blue...and like I said in the other poll we should just have 2 one at the mo with boats and the other at the blue... I just think not as many ppl would make it to the mo... I know I would make it if one of you nebraska city boyz got a spot on your boat 4 me

I'm heading to Beatrice probably the last week of August. That's the last weekend I'm fishing before I get married, damn it's only 62 days away. But I'm excited even if it cuts into fishing time. I'm not sure if we are making a family outing of it yet but that's my plan to be there that weekend. If anyone wants to meet me there you're more than welcome. I'll be camping at the city park or the fairgrounds, depends on if the construction workers have the park filled or not. If it isn't a family outing than I'll be parking at the bridge right by the city park and getting access to the river there. I'm thinking by then the cats should be biting hard and fast. I'll mainly be running my set lines but in between checking them I'll be putting a pole in the water. I hope at least one or two members will show up to try running lines with me. If anybody does plan on showing up make sure you bring a old pair of tennis shoes to wear in the water, if you don't there is a chance of getting a foot cut. An extra set of clothes. And try and bring a clip-on hatlight. That leaves the hands free to check lines, carry the bait bucket, and the stringer because we will need it for the fish we will catch. I'll be fishing friday night, sleeping saturday during the day as best as possible, and fishing again saturday night and leaving sunday morning. I'll at least have my 12 year old with me so he can finally see what I'm talking about. He's not as excited as the 5 yr old but Ryan can't walk the blue yet he's still a little small for the current. It'd be like me trying to walk in the MO. Anyways if anyone wants to meet me there PM me and we can work out the details.

probabaly the best between omaha and the kansas/missouri (rulo) state line... best strech of river in nebraska probably at least to me is between neb city and brownville... lots of big fish brought in when we have tournaments... come on up... i'm kind of hoping we can get something going here.. we have a great camp site an "ok" bait shop if you can put up with alittle b.s. from the guy and the best a liquor store:ooooh:... we have some killer wing dikes that go well over 40 foot in the hole too

i do the same thing on rivers. i just use the boat for transportation from bank spot to bank spot. my water car :smile2:
i looked at alot of that area of river and if i get up that way i probably wont leave for a while. i am really impressed with that area. if that is where y'all end up havin somethin i will see if i can get a KS group to go up too. if i can make it from Topeka to Galveston in 11-12 hrs then goin there is just an afternoon ride
ive caught both my big ones (37 & 33) from the bank. to tell ya the truth, all my flattys come from the bank

You know what's funny Chris? You can catch fish on any bank. I know that, in fact that was never my argument against the MO. And I know for a fact that the former world record blue cat was caught on a bank in a LAKE. My argument was I can't walk in the MO to run set lines. I'm sorry that you missed that part of my post. I've fished the MO down by Brownville a bunch of times and had pretty good luck. And I know there are big fish in there. But my question is what is your problem with going somewhere else to go fishing? Why can't you MO fisherman fish a different river? I've made my point so I'm just kind of curious of why you guys can't fish another river. Is it cuz you're scared. LOL Just kidding. I think if you tried it you might like it, but I guess we'll never know huh.

Why do you need to put out setlines? Don't you own a rod and reel... I would much rather use a rod and reel than go through the hassle of putin out setlines. As far as us fishin other places let's see the nishnabotna river monzingo lake nemaha river and countless crappie holes in iowa and missouri. So before people start thinking we ONLY fish the big river you got to remember we do go other places. Reason for people to fish a certain place all the time could be the location not everyone want to spend a day driving to a spot. Why does skawez fish bluestem and them lakes my guess is because they are close to home
skawez
07-25-2009, 05:51 PM
i fish bluestem cuz i BELIEVE if i get it figured out i can pull a fish bigger then the 25 LB flathead i already got out out there. not to mention out of all the lakes i have around me it is the least fished and has the least amount of ppl crawling all over it.. dont get me wrong tho.. i also fish stagecoach wagontrain hedgefield merganser teal olive creek tanglewood conestoga pawnee branched oak twin lakes wildwood meadowlark holmes lake oak lake bowling lake cottontail killdeer memphis and yankee hill... and yes all but 7 are under 20 miles' most barely over 10 and a few less then that.
But ive made a few trips down to rulo and nemaha and neb city to fish the river this year.. 6 so far i believe and i hope to make more finances allowing.. i would also like to fish the blue down in Beatrice Johns gonna help me with that one :big_smile:. i would also like to fish Harlan and burchard this year not to mention my curiousity is up about the canals Frankie and the guys been talkin about..
its not that i ONLY fish whats close to me and i dont ONLY fish the places i know.. cuz really i dont know anyplace or id have ALOT more PBs to brag about. I fish where i can AFFORD to fish when i HAVE the time to fish and WHERE i can meet others to fish with. youll NEVER hear me say i wont fish some where or some where is no good BECAUSE every place that holds fish is WORTH fishin whether or not you catch fish its the experience you have and the ppl your with that makes it worth it not the fish you catch THATS a BONUS. ive said it before ill say it again.. it only takes ONE fish to make it worth it but if it wasnt for the ppl i fish with that ONE fish wouldnt be worth as much.

i will say what i have to say right now if you cant catch them on rod and real you should not be fishing i hate throwlines and most of the people that do them and i know what you said people do them on thr river every day from the bank i fish lots of other places lets see labor day weekend im going to merritt resevoir for 4 days so dont tell my my scared to do or go anywhere ealse i go lots of places.
i dont think there is any better place thene the river i dont want to catch small fish all the time the river is the best place to go to catch big fish if you dont want to come down here dont come that gos for all you know one is makeing any one come right dont start a poll with the mo on there if you dont want to come

Chris i dont think any one dont want to fish the MO per say im thinkin most dont know it well enough to make a costly trip to fish a bank on hear say.. and with the no call no shows they dont much want to be on a bank they dont know waiting to meet ppl that most likely wont show up given the past experiences.. now adays alot of things fall on money and a mans word.. and when your goin to a place like that your spendin the money on a mans word you dont know.. better safe then sorry at times... thats one reason why i wont fish alone anything can happen and id hate to be someplace i dont know waitin to meet a guy that no call no shows lock into a nice fish and lose. who knows where ya'd end up.
thats said... Bluestem tonight... confirmed..5 members a wife , some kids and a few invites .. looking at having 20+ poles in the water and taking over a bank.. hope the storms havnt messed with the bite~!!
Back to the river gathering... ill fish anywhere it is if i can afford it.. just know ill be meetin a faithful show or bringin one.

I'd rather fish around the eastern part of the state just because I have my favorite spots to fish out there. And he's right I'm not going to drive ALL the way across the state on hearsay. Although I know Captain Jim used to catch all kinds of big cats out of the MO. In fact he's the one that I got my big rods and reels from. So yes I have my rods and reels. But I can only fish two rods with just two hooks that way. With set lines I can fish 25 lines with two hooks on each. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMM lets see 4 hooks or 50 hooks yep I'm fishing for dinner and enought to last me all winter. As for people saying they don't like set lines. Cool that's more fish for me. I'd rather catch 50 5 lbers I can load my freezer with, than one 50 lber I have to throw back just because I don't have the cash to get it stuffed. Because yes if I catch another one that big you can bet I'm going to get it put on the wall. Yeah I know CPR but if I'm spending time and money to go fishing clear across the state I'm keeping my fish, me and my family are hungry. And gas isn't free.
And I was joking about being scared, Damn you boys in NC are touchy. I didn't mean to offend you guys. It's all the same every where with everyone, you fish where you're comfy and it's the cheapest. I don't know the lakes out here well enough so I'd rather drive all the way across the state, just because I know them lakes better, and since my boat is broke right now I'm sticking to my farm pond for now.
Yet next year I'm going to fish both Waverly tourney's, and I'm going to try and qualify for the Cabela's King Kat tourney. If my boat was running I would have no problem fishing the MO with you guys. Granted I could get gas money, which is tight since I'm getting married in two months. Can't forget how exspensive those weddings are.

well frist off thats why we dont like people like you around keeping big fish thats dumb there big because people let them go not you keep them to eat or whatever it is you do with and i know all about weddings mine is in oct so thats that im done fighting and talking about all this :cool2:
Why do you need to put out setlines? Don't you own a rod and reel... I would much rather use a rod and reel than go through the hassle of putin out setlines. As far as us fishin other places let's see the nishnabotna river monzingo lake nemaha river and countless crappie holes in iowa and missouri. So before people start thinking we ONLY fish the big river you got to remember we do go other places. Reason for people to fish a certain place all the time could be the location not everyone want to spend a day driving to a spot. Why does skawez fish bluestem and them lakes my guess is because they are close to home
Hey I'm not mad at ya...you got a prime spot...I would fish the mo everyday if I lived close enuff...just like me and the canal....but as for set lines...I remember growing up in Lawrence NE where you killed or caught your food...one of our daily chores was checking the set lines...yea it's not as fun as rod and reel but feeding the family is work not fun...

i will say what i have to say right now if you cant catch them on rod and real you should not be fishing i hate throwlines and most of the people that do them and i know what you said people do them on thr river every day from the bank i fish lots of other places lets see labor day weekend im going to merritt resevoir for 4 days so dont tell my my scared to do or go anywhere ealse i go lots of places.
i dont think there is any better place thene the river i dont want to catch small fish all the time the river is the best place to go to catch big fish if you dont want to come down here dont come that gos for all you know one is makeing any one come right dont start a poll with the mo on there if you dont want to come  First of all, I want to add to this quote is that I started this second River Gathering poll. The decision will be made when the poll closes!! Correct!!
Second of all if the decision goes to the Missouri River, then that's where the gathering will be held!!
Third of all and last but not least, I hate seeing all this belly aching BS going on. This is a good indicator of me closing this poll and leaving this thread to expire. If we can't get along and make wise choices for this gathering without the stupid crap, then I'm out like a light!!
If John wants to run some sets, then that's fine. No law restricting him doing so under the right circumstances! Correct?
I would really like the opportunity to fish with you guys at any location and make the trip there. I will not put up with the attitudes of anybody and I will look else where to fish and leave the premises!!
With this said, carry on back to the gathering talk!!

Chris, its beginning to seem to me as tho your not happy unless your either braggin about your buddies fishin , the MO, or complaining about someone elses input. i like a good razz as well as the next guy and i can dish it out as well as take it. But you have to see if youd re read these posts that no one is actually refusing to fish somewhere besides you, what everyone has been doin is puttin thier 2 cents in on other places that may or may not be more fesible to more or other members and why. youve said your piece on more then one occasion on more then one subject and believe it or not youve been heard.. really you have... everyone knows you want to fish the MO and if any gathering isnt there then you wont come.. ok point made..
you once told me o great its skawez complaining on yet another thread.. yea bro i heard ya then too.. and now youve felt my frustration and why i what hot about the subject.. take some time cool down regroup and forget about it.. youve said it yourself everyone has the right to put thier 2 cents in and thats what everyones doin.. no need for fightin or arguing.
lets just hook up go fishin have a good time and reel in a few cats.. lifes good the great outdoors makes sure of that so lets just enjoy it before the ice hits and all we have time to do is swap stories.. lets make them stories together.
oh yea.. sorry everyone, for some reason lately my fingers wont stop typing... ill try to cut things down.. or fish more... hmm rather do both:big_smile:

I'd love for it to go to the MO and then for everyone to catch their fill of fish. But from the sounds of the post on the Mo thread it doesn't sound like it's producing to good. I can't tell you how the Blue is doing because I haven't had a chance to fish it yet. But if it's anything else like the rest of the state I bet the bite is just as slow. I'd like to know what is up with the fish this year.

the bites been slow.. but better then last year.. then agin i get to actually fish this year LOL... i got 3 channels 1-3 lbs out of the MO this year and 1 3 lb blue and all of those were before june... the 25 and 3 lb flatheads came from the lake as well as the 6-7-9-4-3 lb channels and the 9 lb blue... well those are the ones i put on the scale .. the rest were either bait or small enough to be used for the bait LOL... GOOD LUCK TO ALL NO MATTER WHERE YOUR FISHIN~!!!

Hey Steve, I see you fish the MO and had some good success. Is there much for bank access where you fish Steve or do you fish it in a boat? I still like the opportunity to hammer a nice blue out of there, if I can locate them!!

I'd like to know what is up with the fish this year. Hey John!! It has been a pretty weird year for fishing. But I'll tell you, this has been a pretty good year for Cattin' for me. I haven't tried very many places to Catfish, but Elwood has been a great producer for me and some of my friends. I don't leave unless, I have bloodbait in the boat and so far it's been my best goto bait for hammering Channels cats of all sizes, even up to my friends 25# Channel. We all have some strange years of fishing! My best year was back in 1999 or 2000 where 25-30 cat mornings were not uncommon at the inlet of Johnson Lake. I'm talking cats from 1#-13# on stinkbait and liver. Using 2 rods got to be a hassle!! Good times!!
As of right now, I'm thinking most of the Nebraska Catfish lakes are showing the spawntime of the Catfish. It was definently slow this weekend for me to. It should pick up here pretty soon. Around the first part of August should show some good signs of action for Cattin'!! I'm hoping anyway!!
Hey John!! Have you tried much night fishing this time?? My best producing hours are 10-midnight.. Morning bite has dropped off significantly for right now!!

Hey Chris!! No hard feelings!! I'll admit I got out of hand to on some of these posts. I understand you have a great spot to fish and you would like the gathering to be there. That's fair enough!! Being honest, I have never had the opportunity to fish the MO and would jump on it in a heartbeat to fish it someday. It would be awesome to land a blue-cat, for I never caught one before. That would be iciing on the cake for me!! Hoping we can set this BS aside and get back to reality and maybe hookup and doing some serious Cattin'!! Works for me!!
Later.

The river has been high this year nort much over 13-14 ft its now down to around 10 ft so the big bitr should be on now. When do you guys want to come to neb city 3rd weekend of aug? Just throwin a date out. There is also good bank spots too I can put you guys on a bank spot and limit out on flathead in the 5 lb range all day long if they are biting. Just let us here know

I heard the best bite on the MO was late Sept thru Nov. But that's only what I remember from the locals down in Auburn telling me.
Wish I could've met you guys when I lived down there to try some fishing from a boat. I did a lot of bank fishing when I lived down there. Caught some nice fish but nothing has been BIG since I younger.
I only ask that maybe you guys shoot for Sept for your gathering that way I might be able to entice some of these guys to meet me in Beatrice the last week in August. That way we can both fish with members and on the rivers we want to. It's a win win for everybody that way. Plus if you do yours in Sept you won't have to worry about me crashing the party.:smile2: Just kidding the only fishing I'm doing in Sept is on the night of my Bachelor party. Way out here we don't have strippers so I'm stuck fishing. Bummer damn right. NOT
Anyways just a thought to see if maybe we can make a couple mini gatherings out of these river trips.
I'm just wondering how many people voted for the mo that arn't even thinking about showing up??? stuff like that pisses me off....don't vote if you have no intentions on trying to make it...I really don't give a crap about the votes if there rigged...its not hard to get 5 or 6 guys toghter for another gathering...tell em free beer!!!! they'll be there
that being said lets start on some dates...these dates should work with the "nebraska city boys" agenda...they got the boats and can at least lead us to the right spots.

I say for the blue the last weekend in August. I believe that is the 27th, 28th, and 29th. I won't show up until Sat mid morning because I need to drop my daughter off at her Aunt's house friday night and then I'm leaving at like 5 in the morning to go to Beatrice. I'm only driving the car (better MPG) so I might have room for one more because the 12 yr old is coming with me. That way I won't have to fish alone. Steve if you want to follow me down I need to stop thru Lincoln to pick up some goldfish and chubs. That's at Emerald and then I'm off but can make a quick detour to show you the way. Frank if you need a ride let me know. I'll be coming down the interstate so you'll have to meet me at a truck stop or something. We can work out the details. In fact lets just call it now. The last weekend in Aug will be a mini gathering in Beatrice for some Blue river fishing. Catmanjeff I like to meet the one who poses for his pictures like a caught fish so it'd be great if you could make it.

Sounds like a good time John! I may go to the airshow at Offutt that Sat, but could swing down to Beatrice that eve. depending on when it gets over. If I don't make the airshow you can bet I'll be there for sure. The way you talk it up has got me excited to fish down there

Well look at my avatar. That was last year set lines and we only checked them three times. I got drunk and couldn't walk let alone walk in the water after that. I think my lines set empty for 6 hours. And if you look close all three breeds are in there. I call them my twins. The blues went 6 lbs, the Flats went 5 lbs, and the Channies went 4. I also caught one drum that went 2 pounds but I thought that would ruin the picture, but sure tasted good the next day. Hope to see you there.

Ok Nebraska Members!! I just got off the phone with Frank. Nice guy by the way!! So far it's looking to be the majority with the Missouri River. Does anybody like the idea for the gathering to be held during the last weekend of August 28-29 Or possibly the first weekend in September 5-6? As far as plans go, I'm free for that and so is Frank. Thinking this will serve the Eastern members quite well!!
Maybe have the Missouri on the August dates and the Little Blue on the Sept. dates.
Post away!!

Hey switch that Mark. Let's do the blue in Aug and the MO in Sept I've already been trying to get people to the blue in the last week of Aug and it sounds as if I have a few already. I ask this only because you all can go to the MO in Sept while I'm getting ready for the wedding. So switch those dates please and help a brother out. Oh and bring your poles to. Maybe we can gang bust the blue for a weekend.

Well the last weekend in Sept works so far for me. I have to see if I get the job I'm interviewing for tomorrow. If I get it I may have to be on call for that. Please by all means do not hold back on having the gathering waiting for me. All I asked was if I could get the blue gathering the last weekend in August. I'm not even sure if my lady will have the money saved for a second trip that close to the first one. Plus if it goes down that weekend I will only be back in town for 2 days. Thinking I may want to work for few days first. So as long as we can go to the blue in August you guys plan your gathering without me and I'll see if I can swing some extra money from somewhere and make it. I will definetly try I'd like to fish with Chris.
