I headed down to the Ottawa Pool yesterday. I picked up some shrimp, oysters, and tried using scallops for bait. The scallops and oysters were a waste of time, and I floated down about a mile and a half with the shrimp with no luck.
I guess what I learned from this trip is:
1- dont be lazy and catch some shad.
2- Use the danny kings sitting next to you in the boat.
3- I never do good in early spring. head to Lasalle Lake

It was fun anyway.

I went this morning for about 3 hours. We went to Starved Rock above the dam at look out point I think it is called. I could only get about 6 shad but that was OK, only had a couple of bites. It will get better.
