1st time snagging

Went after spoonbill yesterday at Table Rock, no luck but I seen a few other guys had a few 1- 60 +. I did snag a 17'' crappie in 34' of water, hit her right under the lip, nice fish she had started to fill with eggs and will have them unless someone else gets her. Water temp. where we were was 50.

Sounds like a good catch. Thanks for turning me onto this site.Last friday I talked to a fisherman at cape fair that snagged a 13" crappie. They also snagged two spoonbill, 45#,65#. See ya later

When you all are snagging, what size hooks are you using?

I think they are # 8 treble hooks, they are about 3" long and 1 1/2 dia.

I use 8/0 tied above 5-6 oz weight.
