I know everybody has there own but me and topjimmy have used hot dogs and i have used stink bait. Hot dogs worked stink is what it is. When i was young i used chicken livers all the time that was kansas. So do chicken livers work here in arizona, and if not what does because when i go fishing i would like to catch something, ha ha ha ha ha ha:)

In my oppinion, if you can't catch it in a castnet or on a jig , it don't go on the hook!!!
Anything else is just for little fish!!1

For channels I like 3 minnows on the bottom sumular rig as flats but lighter line, sliding sinker and 2 hooks 3minnows on 1 and shrimp on the other.
Stink bait is okay if I don't have minnows or shrimp crawfish blood would be my choice for stink.

For flats blue gill, sunnies, small carp, chunk carp, and giant mud puppies but pricey.
I got a 12lb flat on the 3 minnows fishing for channels.

for channels I like to use fresh cut shad or trout guts.
for blues I like to use shad heads and cut sucker meat..

Natural bait works better for me. For Lakes I like whole or cut shad and worms in the headwaters inflow during springtime after a rain. In Rivers I'll use both and occassionally a stink bait in summer.

I would give shad a try, they dont have to be big, if they are very small put several on a hook.
