Anybody have any good techniques for fishing the tailrace below wheeler without getting hung every cast?

Light weights... I had pretty good luck below wheeler last fall just behind the power line that is nearest to the turbines. There is a good hole about fifty foot from the base, if you put the boat in the right spot it will draw the bait up stream. I use about a 1 ounce weight and never more than 2 ounces. Caught several in the 20# range, nothing monster though.

Thanks for the info people we have talked to say the cats should be in there any time now do you no when the best time is this time of year? How is the night fishing there.
