New kentucky skipjack record?

Seen in the paper where there was possibly a new kentucky record for skipjack. It weighed 3.075lb and 19.25inches long and 10.25 inch girth. Old record was 2lb 13oz.

Thats a nice skipjack. We bowfished some shad bigger than that in Lake Erie.

Article said it was caught in the Cumberland River tailwater. I never realized shad or skipjack got that big.

my inlaws have a house in jamestown i wounder if it was close to there

now thats a big skipjack. ive netted some shad here in wv that were 12 to 15 inches on a regular basis.

The second time we fished below Barkley dam in spring '05 we caught several over 20", one was 24"long. Never thought about records, I was just thinking bait!...W

Now that is a big skip jack. I think Arkansas record is 2 pounds 9 ounces.

Speaking of skipjacks are any being caught yet below KY or Barkley dams yet.I'm planning a trip down there April 18.Does anyone know if there still in there pretty thick at that time? I was down there the first of April last year and they were thick,but I dont know if I just happened to hit the peak or what. :confused:Any info would be great. Thanks
