Hot Water Discharge in Monroe

Went to the hot water discharge in monroe saturday and caught 17 channels. We didn't keep any, but I was wondering what you all thought about eating these fish. There were a lot of catfish anglers out and many were keeping fish. Am I just paranoid or is there any danger of eating these fish? Most of the fish were 3-6 pounds.

I've never fished one yet, but a guy i worked with kept some from the hot ponds in SAGINAW BAY and said they like eating soft mud. He never done it again. Still Its a lot of fun and still does it.
