Alright guys, I got 400 bucks to spend on a good (cheap) finder.. Might be able to throw in another 100 if needed.. I fish the Mo. and Miss. river so i'll need one that can keep up with the changes in the bottom. this will be the first one i buy new so what will i look for pix. & res. wise? whice gives better returns?

Hey Willie how you doing been a while. I bought an Eagle 480 with gps last year at cabelas for $302.00. I really like it. Some people like the ones with color. Mine is black and white. For the money I dont think you can go wrong. I had a limit of $400.00 dollars also. This is the one I felt was the best for my money. No regreats at all. Locating fish I never knew was there with my old graph. And I am on the Mo river a lot also. Hope this helps.

hey they have lawrence 510 on sale now for about 365.00 that unit sells for 500.00 when not on sale.:wink: its a color unit i had one on my other boat just purchased one for my new boat.

I know folks are all going to the colored screen, I found a hummingbird 161 GPS/FISFINDER INTERNAL ANT AND I REALLY LIKE IT! Oh its black and white.
Wally world has them and the darn thing is pretty good for the money, and has GPS to boot!
Around $180.00
I think that leaves money for fishing and or other things!:ooooh:

A lot of choices in that price range... I have a basic Eagle FishMark 320.. but for $400 you could get a nice color unit or a gps/Sonar combo.
Eagle/Lowrance have a pretty good rep, imo. My little unit works nice.

I have 2 of the Eagle fishmark 320's. Sometime I would like to replace the one on the consol with the Eagle 640 with ext. ant.
