Could anyone give me any advice about the Pearl River? Will be going there soon and plan to do alot of fishing, catfishing that is:cool2:

I know there's good catfish but never been there. You might check on the MS Dept of Fisheries on the forum there.

I've fished the Pearl my whole life between Jackson and Philadelphia. Best way to catch eatin size is tight line with a life crawfish with as litle weight on the line as possible.

If you want to catch BIG ones on the Pearl go to the damn at the south end of the Ross Barnett. You'll need surf rods and big pieces of cut shad, bloodier the better. Hang on tight...I caught several 70lb.+ cats there last spring about this time of year.

Fish log jams with trotlines and shiners or small perch. Limb lines under the willows. If the waters gets out of the banks fish in the woods in the shallows with lines.
