I have been looking around a little bit and would like to sell my current lowrance X-96 and upgrade to a color unit with gps. What would you guys think the best bang for my buck would be? I dont have a thousand dollars or anything like that, so hopefully there is something affordable with high quality. Also, will all of the lakes in my area going to be on the gps unit? Is there any way to check this out?
Thanks!

I just went with a new unit this year and so far I really like it. I went with the Lowrance LMS 522c IGPS, it has an internal GPS antenna and is color sonar. I got it at Cabelas on sale for $499 regular price was $650. Not sure if they still have them or not. It works great! Chris

The LMS 522 models are hard to find right now. But a good alternative is the Eagle(lowrance) brand color models with GPS.
