Maryland killed over 100,000 deer this year. This is a record for the state (since modern record keeping). Not bad for a "smallish" state IMHO.

You can read about it here:

How did your state do?

That's really interesting. You guys must be "wrapped up" in deer! And, I had no idea you had sika deer. Are they pretty plentiful also?
Thanks for posting that article!:0a31:

We are overrun with whitetails here. They've killed so many and you cant tell a difference. I took a 45 minute drive over the weekend and saw countless deer on the side of the road, hit by cars. Sikas are plentiful in my opinion, but not nearly as plentiful as whitetail. They let us kill 36 whitetail a year (12 bow,12 muzzleloader, 12 shotgun/rifle), but only 6 sika (they're a separate bag limit than the whitetail). There is a good population of sika in dorchester county, its mostly marshlands, and they thrive there.

In Edit: I say sikas are plentiful, they're only plentiful in certain counties. The counties they are found in are where they are plentiful.
