The wife and I are going to Laughlin on the 16th. Just wondered what anyone could tell me about the fishin on the river there. It does not have to be about Cats, just anything, like "Go to the park at X and Y, use worms, catch monster everything" would be nice. Seriously, any advice would be appreciated. You ain't gettin none of my fillets though!!!

Joe, i didn't catch that one around yuma. caught it in canals by calexico. caught a bigger one about 9 yrs ago in mittry. (46lbs) but no camera that day. here's how i do it. get the boat ready. load the ice chest up with beer. go to one of favorite spots and try and catch gills for bait. then another spot to fish. oh yeah, beer while catching gills. maybe two. :smile2:
then set up for nite. fish usually bite when i'm 3/4 asleep and almost crocked. but stubborn and keep at it time after beer after beer. :0a26:
seriously, this summer, we'll get together and go out some. i've asked dameon several times to go, but never get answer back so stopped asking him.
fish the canals too. the one that runs along mittry lake and crosses over 95 before you get to fortuna road has them in it.

Hey Steve,
I do belive they are planting trout along the casinos and below the danm there, typical stocker trout stuff should work..ie power bait...ie...power worms, super dupers, castmasters, light line...etc..Also alot of stripers there, maybe cut chovies for smaller schoolie size fish. There are big stripers there, and in the winter they key in on the rainbows.IF your looking for a bigger model, try bomber long a,s the bigger ones and or large trout plug type swimbaits.Every winter there are stripers over 15lbs caught along that stretch......and thats small compared to the ones farther north in lake mohave.
Good luck!
