Boated to a bridge pillar that you can get out on when the water is low enough as it was this night. Set up: 209 penn with 35lb test line mounted on a 12 ft extra heavy ugly stick. Used the double swivel system so that the line could be taken out freely without moving the weight which was 10 oz's, the hook was a Gamustu 8/0.
After fishing all night with my son Trevor, we had only managed a 6 lb channel and a 13 lb blue. Just before sun up, I had fallen asleep and woke up to the penn
reel going crazy. Had a good fight with the fish, netted,
photo and released.

Catfish was caught by 12 year old J.J. Fuchs, my fishing partners son. We took our boys for a night of flathead fishing but got a late start. Only fish of the night was the 44lb.
flathead catfish. Forgot the net and had to grab him by the gill to pull him upon the dock. Photographed and released the flathead
catfish unharmed. Pictured in photograph from left to right are Zach Tokie, John Fuchs and the very happy J.J. Fuchs who caught the fish. |

I was fishing a deep hole on the
Cumberland river all night with no luck when I fell asleep for a minute or 20, when
I awoke to an almost completely bent over fishing rod had it not been for my rod holder being part of my truck i would had lost my rod for sure!
I got out and set the hook which I don't know was needed,
I think it was all ready hooked can't be to sure though and after 15 minutes of the best fight a catfish has ever given me
I landed my biggest catfish yet. |
