The Ohio River was too high for my dad's boat on this day,
so we decided to bank fish the lock side of a lock and dam instead. This fish hit a live bluegill on the first cast in about 10 minutes. It was the only fish we caught that night. |

I
Was fishing with my Dad and Matt Hardbarger on the Ohio River, Dad spotted a nice fish laying on the bottom of the river with his fish finder and we set up on the fish, I was using a Creek Chub about
8 inches long, and about 15 Minutes later the fish hit and took off,
I fought him for about 15 Minutes and we got him into the boat.
He weighed right at 44 Pounds. |

I
Was using a live Creek Chub, fishing in 22 foot of water, fish hit and screamed the reel by the time I grabbed it and hooked him the fight was on, after
a 10 minute fight he came to the top of the water and I knew it was a dandy.
This is my personal best so far. The Flathead Catfish Broke the 50 pound scale so my Dad made it 48 pounds, when I hooked it onto the scale it went down to 48 then the fish flopped and broke the scale. |

I
was fishing the Ohio River near Browns Island, I had cut
a skipjack that was caught in Cumberland Dam in
Kentucky, about a 5 inch cut, was fishing on the edge of
a drop off in 6 foot of water, on the south end of the
Island, near a 32 foot hole. the flathead took it nice
and slow and I gave him a few seconds running it and
crossed his eyes, when it got close to the boat it
decided to not come up and then the battle began, took
about 15 Minutes to land him and released him back into
the river. |

While out fishing for some eaters, I saw something roll in some grass near a stump. I though it was a bass and after seeing this happen about 4 or 5 times I though that seeing nothing else was biting to good I would give it a go. The water in the area we were fishing was about 10 foot deep with no real structure near the bank other than a big log and some grass. So I picked up my bass rig to pitch a live 6 inch sliver shiner over near the stump. The Next thing I know I am in a battle with something to large to be a bass. And, after about 20 minutes I have this big brute next to the boat and the largest cat I have ever caught up to that point. |

John had cast my bait into an
Eddie about 50ft. off of the wall of the dam and told me to watch it
closely. We were only there for 20 minutes or so when I got the hit of a lifetime. Then it happened, the rod went down quick. When I set the hook I thought I was snagged until it started moving to the left and he was taking line in a hurry. I managed to slow him down with a little more drag and gained on him, Man what a
fight! It took about 20 minutes to land him. I was worn out after it was all
over, LOL! It measured 39in in length, 25in in girth, and 10in across his head. This was my first flathead and biggest fish of my life, It was a great day for me!
