My rod began to slowly load when this Flathead hit. In fact it repeatedly, but slowly, double over several times before I decided to lift up on it. This fish was heavy and had hit like a typical Flathead. This fish just stayed on the bottom and bulldogged; it put up a great fight.When the fish finally surfaced, my wife got its head in the net and we pulled it into the boat. It was my new PB! I always subtract the weight of the net (minus handle) from the scale weight.

Was down on the lower Potomac for the day fishing a low pressure system that was coming in.Was fishing a drop off from the main channel about an hour before it started raining A water taxi had just went by, when the rod went down hard. After roughly a 5 minute fight, I was able to boat this nice Blue coming in just under 54#. Snapped a couple pictures and he went right back in the river to swim another day.

Was out for a day just kicked back enjoying the day, while bump anchoring testing some 7/0 sickle hooks I got off Pete, I ran into this nice channel up in the shallow portion of Dam #4 just below Williamsport, Md. in about 2.5'of water.

I picked up Tan at his house about 8:30pm. After about a 2 1/2 hour drive we meet up with Pip at the launch around 11pm. He allready had the shad and all we had to do is get in and go. We fished a few diffrent spots just passin the time waiting for the tide to change. I picked a teener up pretty quick and that was about it till the tide changed and we moved. Went on another fishing mission with a buddy of mine- he got to telling me that you can catch FlatHeads on cut-bait in the Spring- He was right. Hooked into a giant..don't know how big he was- but, he broke an 80 pound leader. The second one wasn't so lucky. It is my biggest FlatHead to this date. He weighed in at 63 pounds. What a morning on the water...
